Hey, I'm back from my mourning. ;( A player with a vision Liverpool's fifth place was not good enough for Owen. Plainly things have to improve - or the 23-year-old will be looking for the exit door. Kop boss Gerard Houllier might think the Worthington Cup and fifth place is a decent season - but his top players do not see things that way. Steven Gerrard called the season a disaster. While, Carragher is happy with the Worthington cup. What a naive guy he is. He is about to be replaced for a better right back and still assume he is a regular next season. Pity him. Not even the England manager considers him for the place in the national team. Carragher is OK at times but mainly he is a static player. He have to stop and turns his body in the direction he wanted to pass the ball. Too slow, not reliable and lacking the of skills required to be a top player. For me, a player have to improve and show their talent before 24-25 yrs old and a then would be an excellent player at 26-32 years old. If he doesnt do enough... well forget it. Heskey, Carragher and some other players have come to the end period to show they are really worth it, to show that SPECIAL something they have... The've failed. Pity them. That views should differentiate between a crap player who thinks Worthington cup is good enough. Yes, the beauty of it is to beat Man United but from the trophy side of it, it is nothing to be proud of. Fifth place IS a disaster. Well, I dont really agree the whole season is a disaster but it is really really terrrrrriiiiible... the cup glory and some excellent result cannot hide the real story. Summer transfer Damien Duff, good. Kewell, better. With Kewell rejecting a 7million pound offer from Man United, Liverpool should try and buy this player. He is full of skills and promises. I just like him better than Duff, it is just my preference. Reports today suggest that Liverpool may not be prepared to pay Blackburn Rover’s £15million asking price for winger Damien Duff and could persue interest in Leeds United’s Harry Kewell instead. For the record Liverpool have only made one offer, to Duff... and maybe Beattie(denied by saints). Beattie is a scorer (20+ goals this season). He's a good investment. Obviously he can get the goals to win games. Thats what a winning team requires. Not only to be good in defense but have the firepower to win games. Cisse is also a good striker but only manage 14 goals this season in their league, and that is average, the leader had 24 goals. "It's not been the greatest of seasons on the league front, nor in Europe, We did win the Worthington Cup but we had set our sights much higher than that and, overall, it's been a disappointing season. Hopefully it will get better next year. It's a really important summer for the club. We have never performed to our capabilities this season. Whether the players who played have to improve next season or whether we need to bring players in, it remains to be seen what the manager does. But it's certainly a big summer." - Michael Owen -- Post a Comment |
